What is Discovery Airpass ?

Discovery Airpass will allow you to take advantage of our expanded network of routes between the region’s most exciting destinations – at a fraction of the regular fares. For the first time ever, visitors can fly economically cheaply and conveniently around the region. The participating airlines are:

Bangkok Airways(PG)

Asia's Boutique Airline pioneered the region's most popular routes, such as Bangkok to Samui. Other favorites include Bangkok (Thailand) to Luang Prabang (Laos), and Bangkok to Maldives.

Lao Airlines (QV)

In addition to its domestic routes, Laos' national carrier offers convenient international routes such as Luang Prabang (Laos) to Chiang Mai (Thailand), and Vientiane (Laos) to Hanoi (Vietnam).

How Does Discovery Airpass Work?

It is actually a system of coupons that allows you to fly between Bangkok Airways' many domestic destinations within Thailand, Lao Airlines' domestic routes in Laos. Coupons for most domestic flights cost USD 101 per adult (Children aged 2-11 = USD 76; infants under 2 = USD 25). **

Discovery Airpass also covers selected international routes serviced by the participating airlines. Coupons for most international flights cost USD 138 (children aged 2-11 = USD 104; infants under 2 = USD 35). Certain long distance international flights cost USD 230(children ages 2-11 = USD 173; infants under 2 = USD 58). **

Terms and Conditions

1. Purchase a minimum of three coupons (or a maximum of six).

2. Seats are limited; some flights do not offer seats at all.

3. All quoted prices exclude taxes, airport departure fees and other charges.

4. A ticket is valid for a maximum of 2 months after departure of the first flight.

5. Individual routes may not be traveled more than once in each direction and only one stopover is allowed per city.

6. Coupons are non transferable, but rerouting is permitted at a charge of USD 50 per transaction, plus any fare difference.

7. The Airpass is being sold worldwide by any IATA travel agent.

Fare Rules

1. RESERVATION AND PAYMENT : All sectors must be confirmed before issue the ticket. If payment is not in USD, Bank Selling Rate (BSR) will be used for conversion in local currency.

2. MINIMUM STAY : No minimum stay is required.
Exception: ONE day for Siem Reap (REP). Passengers traveling to Siem Reap are required to stay at least one night in this city.

3. MAXIMUM STAY : 2 Months.

4. STOPOVER : Only one stopover allowed per city.
For ex: BKK-THS-BKK-LPQ/BKK-REP-BKK
- Condition 1 : THS-BKK-LPQ are on the same day: Discovery Air Pass is permitted.
- Condition 2 : THS-BKK-LPQ are on different day: Discovery Air Pass is not permitted as we consider "BKK" after surface break as 1 stopover.

6. FARE BASIS
“VPASS” followed by the number of coupons issued. And add indicator /CH or /IN for Child or Infant passenger. Example: VPASS4 (4 coupons) or VPASS4/CH (Child)

7. TRANSFERS : Unlimited transfers allowed.

8. NUMBER OF COUPONS PERMITTED
Minimum 3 coupons
Maximum 6 coupons

9. COUNTING OF FLIGHT COUPONS : Each flight needs a coupon and total of flight coupons will determine the fare of Discovery Airpass. Sequential use of coupon : Each ticket must be used in its entirety and in the order which the coupons are issued. Non-sequential use of the tickets are not permitted.

10. ROUTING : Individual sector must not be traveled more than once in each direction.
Example: BKK-USM-BKK-USM-SIN (not permitted) Or BKK-REP-BKK-REP-PNH-BKK (not permitted)

11. OPEN JAW : Allowed

12. CHANGE OF RESERVATION : Permitted free of charge

13. REROUTING : Permitted at a charge of USD 50.- per transaction plus the change for fare difference if any.
Discovery Airpass may be extended as long as the maximum coupons allowed are respected.
Example: Discovery Airpass of 4 coupons may be reissued into 6 coupons by paying fare difference and the charge for rerouting.

14. REFUND : For totally unused ticket, ticket can be refunded by deducting refund administrative fee USD 80.
For partial used ticket or after first departure, refund not permitted.
(Refund unused taxes for partial used ticket permitted with administrative fee USD 80)

15. TAXES / FEES / CHARGES :

Effective date April 1, 2010 PG Domestic Routes within Thailand fare has included YQ (insurance and fuel surcharge) into the base fare. However, YQ of Bangkok Airways International routes and other applicable taxes shall refer to the system.

USM – BKK (PG) = USD 119 + THB 300TA
BKK – LPQ (PG) = USD 126 + USD 31.00YQ + THB 700TS
LPQ – VTE (QV) = USD 74+ USD 10.00YQ + USD1.20LA

16. DISCOUNTS : Apart from child and infant, no other discounts granted.
17. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE : 20 kilograms per person. Charges apply for excess baggage.
18. ENDORSEMENT : DISCOVERY AIRPASS // VALID ON PG /QV FLIGHTS ONLY // NO REFUND AFTER FIRST DEP ARTURE.
